The solution involves migration of subscriber based from a legacy HLR to an IP HLR.
The subscriber migration service requires planning, coordination and completion
of many activities, many of which are dependent upon the completion of an earlier
activity.
In the center of all of this activity is the conversion of source subscriber data
from the Legacy Switch to a format that is compatible with the target IP Switch.
Trident provides a framework that enables migrations of subscriber records from
a source location to a destination location. The framework will allow for other
source and destination device combinations to be added by the user and used for
migration through options available with the tool.
The Subscriber Migration Framework provides a rich set of modules to enable the
user to define their own Source and the Target devices along with their parameters,
capability to create various rules and mappings across the parameters of the Source
and the Target devices, set default values for specific Target parameters, reporting
of the converted data before initiating the provisioning and post processing of
the dump taken from the Target device after performing the provisioning.
In addition, the operator will be able to make some of their own custom changes
on the spot instead of needing to obtain software developer support. Thus if a modification
to a value setting is needed, it can be performed more expeditiously by the engineer
performing the migration.
